I live this way and call it the me, myself & and I version of living...not everything needs to be explained, defended, reasoned, or even said out loud bc the 1st person "we" is all good, calm and living quietly from within. Life becomes more simple and less vulnerable in turn...namaste~
It happened in the most profound way as I was leaving the hospital during the first months of my recovery journey.
I somehow knew that trying to explain the transformation that occurred during those weeks in the hospital would diminish the magnitude of it. That my words would be met with doubt. Not because there wasn’t hope, but because there were decades of mistrust. So I stayed silent and stayed the course instead.
Words are fleeting. Actions are visible. I knew my actions needed to speak louder than my words. My actions would reveal my commitment more than anything I could possibly say.
Gradually, the truth of that began to heal those broken relationships and rebuild that damaged trust.
Yes. I’m not sure that I will ever be quiet as that’s just not my nature, but I love the idea of not having to explain myself all the time you’re right it is exhausting and it’s unnecessary and I’m going to be more intentional about my explanations.
I keep coming back to this. This is the first of your writing that I’ve read, Atticus, and it won’t be the last.
Beautifully said! xx

This resonated.
You wrote, “Some seasons ask only to be lived.”
I get that. And yes, it happened gradually.
It happened in the most profound way as I was leaving the hospital during the first months of my recovery journey.

That season asked to be lived.
It asked to be lived quietly.
I’m grateful I trusted the silence.
